about us

LevelUp is recognized as the world’s #1 Rated Pickleball Academy (Pickleball Magazine 2020 Reader Survey). Our strength is not based on the volume of camps we run each year (100+), but rather in our proven progression-based curriculum taught by a small, hand-selected, team of the top player/instructors in the sport.

Winning at Your Level and Moving Up to the Next

The LevelUp program is all about learning and growing as players. Our pros will show you the common mistakes that people of your level make, how to overcome them, and how to take advantage of your friends lack of pickleball knowledge. Next, we teach you the skills, drills, strategies and techniques to get you to move up a full level.

Cooperative Learning, Drilling and Playing

While Levelup is a serious and tested program, all of our drills and instructions are fun and cooperative. Again, the learning is intense, but the actual drills and play are fun and collaborative.

Each LevelUp training segment focuses on the development of a particular skill. Here is our 5-step progress:

1. Each segment begins with the pros explaining a particular skill and why it is important

2. Pros then demonstrate the proper execution of the skill4. The next part of the progression includes cooperative, drill-based games that isolate the newly-learned skill

5. After a series of cooperative games, players take a rest break and then gather for the next skill - one which is an add-on extension of the previously learned one

Each Camp

Focuses On

Pre-Camp Videos and LevelUp Training

One of the many things that sets the LevelUp program apart from the individual travel instructors is our use of iPad video-taping. On Day 1 we begin with individual 5-minute pre-camp videos focusing on dinking, volleys, serves, returns, and drops. The videos are reviewed at the end of the first day (3 pm). Individual videos are shot again on the afternoon of Day 3 for intermediate and advanced camps. Those videos are sent via email along side the pre-camp video so players can see their improvements and what they still need to work on. As part of the LevelUp+ program, your video can be individually reviewed and audio commentary added by our Director of Instruction.

In addition to your email videos, every LevelUp camper receive a 16-page training manual that covers the tips and drills taught in our clinics.

Serving

Serving and Returning: Our program begins with the proper set-up and positioning for serves and returns. 90%+ of players below a 4.5 level start in the wrong locations and are at a disadvantage before the points even begin. Furthermore, most returners do not know how to properly approach the net to take control after their returns. We also focus on technique and strategies that are emphasized with drills and live game situations.

Dinking

Dinking: The better you get, the more valuable the dinking becomes. LevelUp spends a great amount of time on the importance, fundamentals, ready position, shifting, communication, and strategy for winning dinking. We then use several drills and games to build well-rounded players.

3rd/5th Shot

Drops

By the time campers complete the LevelUp program, they will have the techniques, placement, and proper strategies for executing the drops that will get them up to the kitchen line. We also offer some special drills and games that the pros use to continually develop and improve on these skills.      In addition to your email videos, every LevelUp camper receive a 16-page training manual that covers the tips and drills taught in our clinics.

Volleys and beating the bangers

The LevelUp program is all about learning and growing as players. Our pros will show you the common mistakes that people of your level make, how to overcome them, and how to take advantage of your friends lack of pickleball knowledge. Next, we teach you the skills, drills, strategies and techniques to get you to move up a full level.

Attack Shots

If you want to be more of a threat at the kitchen “non-volley” line, we teach placement and techniques for shove/push drives, passing shots, and offensive lobs. Campers love this segment!

For Fun

Yes, everyone gets to hit a couple Erne Shots (from outside the kitchen) and Around-the-Post (ATP) Shots. While these are just short, fun, drills the majority of campers love these segments and will actively incorporate them into their regular game play.
